The Democratic Socialists of America may dress up its newest project in soft language, but the goal sounds pretty hard-edged. According to reporting from City Journal, the group’s Red Rabbits Security Commission is preparing cadres for what it calls community defense, including training in armed and unarmed self-defense, blocking intersections, and confronting so-called fascists with umbrellas. The name may sound cuddly enough to sell on a tote bag, but the mission sounds more like a street-level security network built for political agitation. That should concern anyone who still believes public square politics is supposed to happen with signs, speeches, and ballots, not a side hustle in organized disruption.

The report says the Red Rabbits are being pitched as a national effort with organizers in places like Minnesota, Oklahoma City, Philadelphia, Tucson, Austin, and Portland comparing notes. Their listed skills include de-escalation, Stop the Bleed training, firearm safety, unarmed self-defense, and protest marshalling, which is a polite way of saying crowd control during demonstrations. The DSA launched the commission at its 2025 national convention, and the group apparently chose the name Red Rabbits as a safer branding option than earlier ideas that sounded too openly militant. In other words, they wanted a friendlier label for something that still looks like political muscle. Amazing how often radicalism arrives wearing a smile and a clipboard.
The Bigger Political Picture Is What Really Stands Out
This story matters because it fits a larger pattern: the far left does not just want power in the streets, it wants control of the institutions too. The same reporting notes that the DSA has pushed goals like abolishing the Senate, replacing the presidency and Supreme Court, and eliminating what it calls the carceral forces of the state. That is not small-ball activism. That is a full-on rewrite of America’s constitutional order, and it is being said out loud instead of whispered in a back room. Conservatives have been warning for years that the left’s so-called social justice movement often doubles as a political pressure machine, and now we are seeing the security arm take shape right alongside the ideology.

For those not familiar with communism (probably anyone 60 years old or less) they always have both an armed “militia” when allowed, but also a secret one, that always exists–even though they deny it. Sounds like the Red Rabbits are the “visible” militia. As stated their main responsibility will be “marshalling” demonstrators at their protests (riots). Communists are generally quite good at this. After all they have over a century of experience. The secret militia will be much smaller but armed with the best weapons available. Today’s arms markets will provide the best available. Being 75 years old I am not up to date on the advancement of drone technology but you can expect they will have them. Probably the best on the market. Do not believe that money will be a problem. There are plenty of “interests” out there that will provide funds for arms. Globalists, communists and other groups will contribute to destroy our country. If America falls, the world will be open to all of them. A “civil war” in America will bring our military home and release all the big and small insurgencies world wide. The fact that “Christians” world wide have realized that we are in the end times has caused many to prepare for this. The fact that our schools, our government and just about many groups have spent many years dividing Americans (since WW2) has already begun to divide us against each other.
Reagan and Trump are the only presidents that have tried to bring us together. The rest have either tried to widen the split or just stayed neutral. Many of our citizens are suffering from apathy and have allowed this to happen. In this country the citizens can rule themselves if they will just wake up and do it!
