Trump had already spoken warmly about Kane earlier in the week, saying, “I think Kane is a great player. I played golf with him and I like him a lot. He’s a good golfer too. He’s really great.” That is classic Trump, direct praise with no committee-approved word salad attached. After England’s 3-2 World Cup win over Mexico, Trump also posted on Truth Social, “Harry Kane of England is a GREAT player!!!” Kane has backed that up on the field, scoring six goals during the tournament against teams including Croatia, Panama, DR Congo, and Mexico. England now heads into a World Cup quarter-final matchup with Norway, with Kane leading the way.
