Trump Is Right About ICE Operations

Reclaiming the Narrative

Tom Basile made a clear, commonsense point on Newsmax. If the facts are on your side you should use them. Basile urged the White House to stop letting opponents set the terms of the debate and to start publishing daily updates about ICE arrests and the crimes tied to those arrested. That is not showboating. It is smart communications. When you have evidence that federal law is being enforced and dangerous people are being removed you make that case every day to the American public.

Daily Transparency Wins Trust

Daily releases of arrests and criminal records are not a gimmick. They build trust and show accountability. Basile said full transparency would let voters see that ICE is following federal law that has existed for decades. People want to know what is happening in their towns. Local, routine briefings would force reporters and citizens to look at facts rather than slogans. Facts are the best weapon in the communications war if you use them consistently.

Local Briefings Matter

Federal operations are not abstract. They play out in neighborhoods, schools, and courts. Basile recommended that ICE, FBI, and Border Patrol hold daily briefings in cities where operations occur. Local media should get specifics about arrests and suspect histories. That gives communities a clear picture of why enforcement happened and how it affects public safety. It also shows citizens where tax dollars are being spent to protect them.

Remind People About Longstanding Law

Basile was right to point out that ICE is using laws that have been on the books for many years. This is enforcement not innovation. Constantly reminding the public of that fact neutralizes the accusation that actions are new or politically motivated. Reinforcing the legal basis for operations helps the public understand that the goal is safety and rule of law, not a partisan stunt.

Numbers That Wake People Up

The scale of illegal entries is worth repeating. Basile compared the four years of mass illegal entries to the number who came legally through Ellis Island from opening to closing. That dramatic comparison helps people grasp the scale. Pair those numbers with the costs to welfare, schools, and law enforcement and the argument becomes not just about crime but about taxpayer burden. Keep pushing the data and the public will notice.

  • Maybe they should be reminded that none of this would be necessary had BIDEN not opened the border for millions of unvetted illegals. Don’t blame the garbagemen for taking out the garbage – they didn’t create it, they are only trying to get rid of it.
