Fatal ICE Shooting Under FBI Review
A targeted immigration enforcement operation in Biddeford, Maine turned deadly Monday morning after authorities said a driver allegedly tried to run over ICE agents. The incident reportedly happened around 7:20 AM at an intersection in the city. According to the early reports, agents were on scene for an enforcement action when the vehicle became a threat, leading at least one agent to fire in self-defense. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. Maine Officials Confirm Investigation Is Underway
Maine Democrat House Speaker Ryan Fecteau, who represents the area, told residents that a shooting had occurred in Biddeford, that one person was killed, and that ICE was involved. He said State Police and the Department of Public Safety were on scene gathering details, and he expected the FBI to investigate. Local reporting later said the FBI is now leading the investigation. That is the proper lane here. Let investigators collect evidence, interview witnesses, review body camera or surveillance footage if available, and tell the public what happened based on facts, not campaign chants.

Second Fatal ICE-Involved Shooting in Days
The Maine incident comes less than a week after another fatal ICE-involved shooting in Houston. In that case, reports said Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, identified as an illegal alien from Mexico, rammed an ICE vehicle, ignored commands, and then tried to run over an agent before being shot. These cases are still separate incidents with their own evidence, but they point to a hard reality many in Washington would rather dodge. Immigration enforcement is not a paperwork exercise. It is dangerous work, especially when suspects allegedly use vehicles as weapons against federal agents.
