Ladies and gentlemen, let’s talk about an intriguing idea that could shake up Washington!
On Monday evening, former President Donald Trump and billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk shared an interesting exchange during a live chat on X Spaces. The topic? Inflation and, more importantly, how to cut down on wasteful government spending.
During the conversation, Musk didn’t hold back when discussing the root cause of inflation. According to him, it all boils down to one thing: government overspending. “Inflation comes from government overspending because the checks never bounce when it’s written by the government,” Musk explained.
He broke it down further, saying that when the government spends more than it brings in, it increases the money supply. And if that money supply grows faster than the rate of goods and services, you get inflation.
But Musk didn’t just stop at identifying the problem. He proposed a solution that could potentially transform how Washington operates—a Government Efficiency Commission. The idea? This commission would evaluate all government spending and cut out the wasteful bits, getting the government back to living within its means.
Musk highlighted the urgency of the situation, noting that the national deficit is ballooning by about a trillion dollars every 100 days, with interest payments on the national debt now surpassing the defense budget.
“We’re currently adding, I think, a trillion dollars to the deficit every roughly every 100 days,” Musk said. “And you know, the interest payments on the national debt have now exceeded the defense budget.”
Now, here’s where things get even more interesting. Musk asked Trump if he would support creating such a commission.
“I think it would be great to just have a Government Efficiency Commission that takes a look at these things and just ensures that the taxpayer money, the taxpayer’s hard-earned money, is spent in a good way,” Musk added a few moments later. “And I’d be happy to help out on such a commission if it were formed.”
Trump didn’t hesitate to say yes. In fact, Trump went a step further, expressing his enthusiasm for Musk’s involvement in this potential commission. “I’d love it,” Trump responded. “You’re the greatest cutter.”

This exchange has sparked plenty of speculation about what could happen if such a commission were formed, especially with Musk at the helm. Could this be the beginning of a new era of government efficiency, or is it just another grand idea that will struggle to get off the ground? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure—this conversation is sure to keep the political world buzzing. Stay tuned, folks!
If only common sense people got together and star realizing what is at stake right now:
This country can be saved by people with similar ideas as the forefathers had, patriots first.
They wrote a great document The Constitution full of common sense: freedom to express
ideas, cannot spend more than what one has, kudos to Elon Musk, hope he helps Trump.
