It’s no secret that many are fleeing California for greener pastures, and the latest to join this exodus is none other than Hollywood heavyweight Sylvester Stallone. The ‘Rocky’ star has recently announced his decision to bid farewell to the Golden State and set up shop in Florida, a move that has sparked quite a buzz.
In the second season premiere of his reality show, ‘The Family Stallone,’ Stallone broke the news to his daughters about his and wife Jennifer Flavin’s decision to leave their long-time home state. The motivation behind this relocation? A thirst for change and a fresh start.
Stallone, who immortalized the character Rocky Balboa on screen, shared in his Netflix documentary ‘Sly’ that a change of scenery can be a catalyst for creativity. Echoing these sentiments, Flavin expressed her desire for a new beginning and lifestyle shift during an interview with Fox News Digital.
The Stallones’ move isn’t just personal; it’s also been met with open arms by Florida’s governor’s wife, Casey DeSantis. In a public statement, DeSantis welcomed the family’s relocation and highlighted Florida’s respect for citizens’ constitutional rights as one of its appealing factors.
Welcome to the Free State of Florida!
In addition to respecting and protecting your God-given, constitutional right to be free, you can also buy toothpaste without having an armed guard in CVS unlock it for you ????

The Stallones have already made themselves at home in Palm Beach, where they purchased a stunning $35.4 million property. The estate boasts over 13,000 square feet of living space, complete with a main house, guest house, and pool pavilion.
While some may question the safety of California given its rising crime rate, Flavin clarified that their decision was not influenced by crime statistics but rather their desire for change. She emphasized that crime is a universal issue, present even in small towns.
This relocation signifies a new chapter for the Stallone family who have long considered California their home. With all their daughters now residing on the East Coast and no close friends left in California, the decision to move was an easy one for them.
Flavin shared her excitement about this new phase: ‘I was born and raised there, two of our kids were born there, but now everyone’s out… so there wasn’t really anything left for me in California,’ she said. ‘A few of our best friends also moved, so I think it’s [a] good change… I love it; I’m really happy.’
Stallone’s move to Florida has certainly stirred up the media. However, it seems that this decision is driven by a longing for change and a fresh start – sentiments shared by many Californians these days.
