Secretary of State Anthony Blinken was visibly disgusted and embarrassed at President Biden’s monumental blunder during the highly anticipated NATO press conference on Thursday. Biden, who had just finished a brief campaign speech, pulled out a piece of paper and announced that his aides had provided him with a pre-approved list of reporters to question. The first question revolved around Vice President Kamala Harris’s leadership abilities, to which Biden shockingly referred to her as “Vice President Trump.”
This gaffe quickly gained traction on social media, much to the dismay of Democrats and Biden supporters who were banking on a solid performance from the president to dispel doubts about his competence following a disastrous debate. Former President Trump also took notice and responded in a Truth Social post.

“Crooked Joe begins his ‘Big Boy’ Press Conference with, ‘I wouldn’t have picked Vice President Trump to be vice president, though I think she was not qualified to be president.’ Great job, Joe!” he wrote.
Blinken’s reaction was immediate and intense, a mix of revulsion and mortification. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan also seemed worried as he leaned forward and placed his hand on his chin after the president’s uncorrected slip.

This is not the first time Blinken has been seen reacting negatively to the president’s remarks. In November, when Biden was asked if he would label Chinese President XI Jinping a “dictator,” he responded, “Well, look, he is,” which caused Blinken to visibly cringe.

It was recently reported by CNN that cabinet secretaries are required to submit pre-approved questions before meeting with Biden. An inside source described the entire setup as an act, revealing that they are told when and what to ask during these meetings.
