Well, well, well, it seems we have some juicy celebrity gossip to discuss.
George Clooney, actor and known friend of Obama, has recently ruffled a few feathers by publicly criticizing Biden through an op-ed in the New York Times. In this piece, he essentially suggests that Biden should step down as his party’s nominee for the upcoming November elections.
Not surprisingly, Joy Behar, a co-host of “The View,” was none too happy about this. She exclaimed, “George Clooney, couldn’t he tell him that in person for God’s sake?! He has to write an op-ed piece?” Clearly, she thinks such a monumental proposal could have been delivered in a more personal manner.
Behar didn’t stop there with her criticisms. She pointed out last month’s World Bank report that claims the U.S. economy under Biden is driving the global economy. She wondered why Clooney conveniently left this out of his op-ed.
However, not all of Behar’s co-hosts on “The View” agreed with her perspective. Alyssa Farah Griffin offered her own take on the matter: “I respectfully disagree. Joe Biden’s feelings don’t matter more than the country. This is not the media. This is not a narrative. This is Democrats, lifelong, who want to defeat Donald Trump and know how to win races saying that Joe Biden cannot win as things are going.”
Similarly, Sunny Hostin chimed in with her thoughts, stating “I don’t like that George Clooney did this. I don’t like that George Clooney aired this dirty laundry to the world.” She believes discussions like these should be conducted privately, especially when it comes to the President, who she feels deserves respect.
Perhaps the most interesting aspect of Clooney’s comments is that they refer to a fundraiser where the media and the White House dismissed clips of Biden being escorted away as “cheap fakes.”
