Sanders Slams Funding for Netanyahu’s Defense Force!

Senator Bernie Sanders has recently made controversial statements suggesting that the US should withhold military aid to Israel, one of our strongest allies in the Middle East. This comes as Prime Minister Netanyahu continues to enforce necessary security measures in Gaza.

Sanders claims that the US is complicit in what he describes as the mass starvation of Palestinian children. He believes that leveraging the $10 billion in military aid is a viable strategy to pressure Netanyahu into changing policies that are crucial for Israel’s security.

Margaret Brennan asked Sanders about his views on President Biden’s approach towards Netanyahu and whether he had discussed this issue with him.

Despite potential political backlash, Sanders insists it is both morally right and politically savvy to prevent children from starving, regardless of one’s political leanings. However, it’s important to note that these issues are far more complex than Sanders suggests, with Israel facing significant security threats.

Sanders and other Democratic senators accuse Israel of violating laws requiring humanitarian access. They argue that the president has authority to suspend aid if national security permits – a stance not shared by many Republicans who understand the strategic importance of supporting Israel.

In a conversation with Brennan, Sanders said, “The United States of America cannot be complicit in this mass slaughter of children,” referring to the situation in Gaza.

He further criticized Netanyahu’s government and suggested that the US should condition its military aid on Israel changing its policies towards Gaza.

Sanders also claimed that Israel is in violation of the law by blocking American humanitarian aid, a point that has been disputed by many experts who understand the complex security situation in the region.

Brennan questioned whether it would be politically feasible for President Biden to halt or condition aid to Israel, especially during an election year. Sanders responded by insisting it was the right thing to do and claimed it would be good politics.

However, many Republicans disagree with Sanders’ stance, understanding that supporting our allies is crucial for maintaining stability in the Middle East and protecting American interests abroad.
