RFK Jr. Shocks All with Unexpected VP Choice!

In a surprising turn of events, NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers has withdrawn from the vice presidential race for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s independent campaign, according to a source within the Kennedy camp.

As per an exclusive report by Mediaite, Nicole Shanahan, a California-based attorney and entrepreneur formerly married to Google co-founder Sergey Brinn, is now expected to join RFK Jr. as his running mate.

The Politics Brief has reached out to the Kennedy campaign for their response on this development and will update with any reactions to the Mediaite report.

Shanahan, who was instrumental in creating Kennedy’s well-received Super Bowl commercial, is reportedly set to be announced as the running mate for this underdog campaign.

A source close to the Kennedy campaign has stated that Shanahan and Kennedy align on numerous issues. The campaign is also reportedly seeking a candidate who can financially support the ballot access initiative, crucial for RFK Jr.’s chances in the election.

However, the same source claimed that while Shanahan’s potential financial contribution to the campaign is attractive, she lacks the necessary qualifications for the role.

The New York Times profiled Shanahan regarding her support of the pro-Kennedy Super Bowl ad:

A major source of the funding — and the creative guidance — it turns out, was Nicole Shanahan, a lawyer, entrepreneur and Democratic donor who was once married to the Google co-founder Sergey Brin.

In an interview on Monday, Ms. Shanahan said she had given $4 million to the super PAC, American Values 2024, about a week before the game, for the express purpose of helping pay for a Super Bowl ad. She also helped coordinate the ad’s production, she said, including navigating concerns from CBS Sports and Paramount, which broadcast the Super Bowl.

RFK Jr. recently made headlines with his response to Joe Biden’s State of the Union address.

Mediaite further substantiated its report:

Mediaite found that the domain www.kennedyshanahan.com was registered on March 13th, and verified the donation page is live and accepting donations at the subdomain pay.kennedyshanahan.com.

Mediaite donated $1 through that donation page to discover the domain was registered by Kennedy senior advisor Link Lipsitz.

A spokesperson for Kennedy did not respond to Mediaite’s request for comment.

Mediaite was first to report that Kennedy would be running as an independent in September.

This news comes as a relief to New York Jets fans who were concerned about losing their future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the political arena.
