What Happened at the Capitol
On Tuesday roughly 200 protesters entered the Minnesota Capitol and gathered outside Governor Tim Walz’s office to demand that ICE leave the state. Video from the scene shows chants like “ICE Out Now” and “Do your job” along with signs that read “Justice Not Gestures” and “ICE Out of Minnesota.” Organizers had planned a slow march to the governor’s doors and the protest remained loud and confrontational but did not devolve into outright violence while state police monitored the crowd.
Who the Protesters Were Calling For
Many signs invoked the names Renee Good and Alex Pretti as rallying points. Those incidents involved dangerous encounters with immigration agents and have sparked calls for accountability. Protesters want charges and policy changes and say federal immigration enforcement has been heavy handed. Supporters argue the demonstrations are about justice and stopping aggressive raids. Critics point out the violent facts behind some of the incidents and warn against cheering on lawlessness.
Walz, Trump and Federal Action
President Trump said he spoke with Governor Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey about the issue and announced that Tom Homan would travel to Minnesota to lead ICE operations there. Homan met with Walz and Frey on Tuesday as part of a federal effort to coordinate deportations of criminal illegal aliens. The move shows the federal government is stepping in and state leaders must decide whether to cooperate or push back. For conservatives this looks like a clear example of standing up for law and order against angry crowds.
Why This Matters to Minnesotans
This protest highlights a clash between calls for reform and the need to enforce immigration laws that protect public safety. Cities and states that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement create tension that ends up in the halls of state capitols. Voters should watch how Walz and local officials handle cooperation with federal authorities and whether they side with law enforcement or with activists who want ICE out of Minnesota entirely.

Why weren’t they rounded up and hauled away like the Jan. 6 folks?
Waltz refuses to turn over the detaiees in jail will show that Waltz & democrats are protecting the criminals. This will be used in the mid terms to show that criminals are above the laws
If Waltz turns over the detanees to be deported.
It’s a win win
Not being said here is that the web site (snap chat) that the protesters used was brached by the FBI & now they have names, addresses, phone numbers & locations as to where the phones are and where they have been. Even if the phones are smashed. History is already collected That info will be gathered from all over the world. Run but they can’t hide
