Protesters Halt Biden’s Motorcade En Route to State of the Union!

In a striking display of public dissent, President Biden’s motorcade was brought to a standstill by a throng of pro-Palestine demonstrators as he was en route to deliver the State of The Union address.

As reported by on-the-ground journalist Oliya Scootercaster, the protesters made their presence felt by sitting in the street and chanting “ceasefire now.” They brandished a sizeable black banner emblazoned with “Ceasefire,” while another faction held up a banner accusing Biden of having a legacy steeped in genocide.

Further adding to the spectacle, some protesters wore black shirts bearing the message “End the blockade on Gaza” and held up signs echoing this sentiment. This demonstration effectively stalled President Biden’s motorcade not far from the Capitol, where he was slated to deliver what could potentially be his final State of The Union address at 9 p.m. Eastern Time. It remains uncertain whether this roadblock will delay his speech.

Biden has consistently met with pro-Palestine demonstrators urging him to broker an end to the conflict in Gaza. These protesters have breached White House gates multiple times, shown up at campaign events across various cities, and even protested outside his Delaware residence.

This ongoing conflict has proven troublesome for Biden, with a substantial segment of his progressive base accusing him of facilitating genocide through his provision of military and humanitarian aid to Israel. In Michigan alone, over 100,000 Democrats voted “uncommitted” as a protest against him.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who spearheaded this protest, has refused to pledge her support for Biden in the upcoming November elections. Pro-Palestine demonstrators have also targeted other establishment Democrat politicians, most recently causing U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) to prematurely end a Senate campaign event due to their vocal protests.
