In an astonishing display of the lunacy that seems to have taken hold of the left, Becky Pringle, the president of the National Education Association (NEA), recently delivered a speech that can only be described as bizarre. It’s no wonder some observers have likened her performance to Dwight Schrute from the hit TV show “The Office.”
Pringle made her spectacle at the NEA’s Annual Meeting and Representative Assembly in Philadelphia. She was nothing short of theatrical, gesticulating wildly, pounding on the podium, and incessantly screaming about winning “all the things,” reminiscent of a Baptist preacher at a fiery revival service.
Her rant focused on the need for transformative social justice changes in our education system. She plans to warp the system into something it was never meant to be—a racially and socially just and equitable system.
She declared, “To unite not just our members, but the nation to reclaim public education as a common good, as the foundation of our democracy, and then transform it into something it was never designed to be—a racially and socially just and equitable system.” Pringle asserted that they had worked hard to rid themselves of a “tyrannical, deceitful, and corrupt White House,” but lamented that the effects of that “horrible season” still persist.
“We are the ones who help shape the heart of this nation’s hope and dreams. We are the ones who hold steadfast to the belief in the plausibility of the possible. We are the heirs of all who did this work before us. We must keep going. NEA Delegates, we can do this work. We must do this work,” she added.
Continuing her shrill tirade, Pringle declared, “Our students are depending on us to win all the things,” repeating emphatically, “All the things! All the things! All the things.”

The speech was met with a considerable amount of criticism. The histrionics were compared to a memorable scene from “The Office,” where Dwight Schrute delivers an infamously exaggerated speech. This comparison led school choice advocate Corey DeAngelis to dub her speech as “off-the-rails.”
Political consultant Matt Dole reached a similar conclusion, jesting that the fictional Schrute must have been Pringle’s “speech coach.”
