She made light of the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, suggesting that the shooter should “get you some shooting lessons so you don’t miss next time.”
This appalling incident occurred shortly after an attempt on Trump’s life at a Pennsylvania rally where his ear was grazed by a bullet. The shooting tragically claimed the life of one attendee and critically injured two others.
Marsaw took to Facebook to post several inflammatory remarks, including, “That’s what your hate speech got you!” She also falsely claimed the incident was staged. These posts were later deleted under orders from her manager.

The Mississippi GOP swiftly demanded her termination, posting on X (formerly Twitter), “@BennieGThompson should FIRE his field director for condoning the attempted assassination of President @realDonaldTrump!!!”
This sentiment was supported by Mississippi Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who stressed the severity of such comments coming from a congressional staffer.
