In a recent segment, Jong-Fast hyperventilated over the show’s demise, calling it “really scary” and invoking her grandfather’s persecution during the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) hearings.
“And even if it’s not quid pro quo, the idea of self-censorship. And I talk about my grandfather, Howard Fast, who was jailed by McCarthy during The House UN-American Activities, that our government has done this before, that history is very much filled with moments like this,” Jong-Fast declared, as if a failing TV show losing $40 million a year is somehow equivalent to political oppression.

This hysterical reaction perfectly encapsulates the left’s victimhood mentality. For years, liberals have gleefully canceled conservatives, deplatformed opposing voices, and weaponized “misinformation” claims to silence dissent. Now, when a business decision—one based on massive financial losses—affects one of their own, they suddenly remember the importance of free speech? The hypocrisy is staggering.
