Megyn Kelly launched a scathing critique of MSNBC hosts Nicolle Wallace and Rachel Maddow during a recent episode of her podcast. The former Fox News anchor took aim at their disparaging remarks about DJ Daniel, a young cancer survivor recently honored by President Trump. Kelly expressed outrage over the critical comments, calling them toxic to the point that even Trump himself addressed them, suggesting severe repercussions for the hosts. According to Trump, Wallace and Maddow’s statements were so inflammatory they should potentially cost them their jobs.
Reflecting on the past, Megyn Kelly lamented the transformation of Nicolle Wallace, who once identified as a Republican and played a significant role in guiding Chief Justice John Roberts through his confirmation. Expressing disbelief, Kelly remarked, “I don’t know what’s happened to this person… It’s Nicolle Wallace who now I think her next job will be with the Lincoln project.”
Shocked by Wallace’s reaction to the heartwarming moment with DJ, Kelly noted the discomfort among Wallace’s fellow panelists. “We went back and looked to see what the reaction on-set was to her and even her fellow panelists, from Jen Psaki to Rachel Maddow, you could see Jen Psaki literally leaning away from her,”
Kelly pointed out. Framing the situation as a significant misstep, Kelly added, “When you’ve gone too far, for Psaki and Maddow, you’ve gone too far period.”
During the moment in question, DJ Daniel’s eyes widened with joy as President Trump declared him an honorary Secret Service member, an innocent gesture that was seemingly twisted by Wallace’s comments. Megyn Kelly criticized, “She saw the same thing we saw, where his eyes got all big when President Trump said he was going to be made an honorary Secret Service member… and that’s where she went. Like, ‘I hope he doesn’t die on President Trump’s Capitol Hill.’”
Kelly argued that Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) distorts people’s perceptions, saying, “You see a wonderful event for a child, and instead, you see only doom, gloom, and darkness, if it has anything to do with the orange man.” She suggested that people afflicted with TDS have a warped view of events associated with Trump, missing the goodness in moments like these due to their personal biases.
Furthermore, Kelly remarked on the faltering viewership of MSNBC, noting that their numbers aren’t climbing, unlike during her tenure at Fox News when opposition coverage drew higher ratings. “When you’re in the opposition, your numbers go up… Their numbers are not going up under MSNBC. Post election, they’re still withering on the vine,” she asserted.
“It’s psychological malady – it’s literally sick…” @richlowry on the shocking comment by MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace connecting hero 13-year-old cancer survivor to January 6.
