Good day, fellow patriots! Hold onto your hats as the political arena is once again in a whirlwind, thanks to none other than our former President, Donald Trump. This time, he’s stirred up controversy at the National Association of Black Journalists convention. The target of his fiery rhetoric? Vice President Kamala Harris, who he accused of playing race games and questioning her racial identity.
In a pointed interview, Trump was asked whether Harris was chosen for the Democratic ticket because she identifies as black. His response was classic Trump, unfiltered and direct.
“I’ve known her a long time indirectly, not directly, very much, and she was always of Indian heritage, and she was only promoting Indian heritage,” Trump said in a video posted to X. “I didn’t know she was black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn black, and now she wants to be known as black.” His comments certainly caused a stir among the audience.
Unfazed by the murmurs, Trump continued his line of questioning: “So I don’t know, is she Indian, or is she black?” ABC host Rachel Scott tried to interject but was steamrolled by Trump’s relentless pursuit of truth. “I respect either one, but she obviously doesn’t because she was Indian all the way, and then all of a sudden, she made a turn, and she went — she became a black person. I think somebody should look into that, too.”
When Scott queried about Congressional Republicans labeling Harris as a “DEI hire” – a nod to diversity, equity and inclusion policies, Trump didn’t beat around the bush. “I really don’t know. Could be. Could be,” he said.
While ABC noted that Harris, born to a Jamaican father and Indian mother, has always identified with both heritages, Trump remained steadfast in his belief that Harris’s sudden shift in racial identity warrants investigation.

Despite the combative atmosphere, Trump took the opportunity to highlight his accomplishments for black Americans. “I have been the best president for the black population since Abraham Lincoln,” he emphatically declared, as reported by Politico.
Harrison Fields, a former assistant press secretary in the Trump White House, acknowledged that Trump was addressing a hostile crowd. “This is consistent with who Trump is,” Fields stated. “Trump is going to go to places that aren’t necessarily his comfort zone, but he understands the value of having these conversations.”
YOUR REACTION: Ken Lemon, the president of the National Association of Black Journalists (@NABJ), says they invited Trump and Harris for their conference. As expected, the media went into a frenzy:
Yeahhhh lol Trump did amazing today at @NABJ‼️ 🤣 pic.twitter.com/xnWLFTp3q7

I see people suggesting that it was a mistake for NABJ to host Trump. No way. Americans need to see this guy for what he is. Keeping him off Twitter and FB, cutting off his mic in the debate, not carrying his rallies live, all serve to protect Trump. pic.twitter.com/SdNprbZzi6

In true Trump fashion, he has once again ignited debate and kept everyone on their toes. Regardless of where you stand on the political spectrum, it’s undeniable: Trump does not back down from a fight. Keep your eyes peeled, compatriots, because this election season promises to be a rollercoaster ride.
Final Thoughts
