SHOCKING REVELATION: Trump Betrayed by Secret Service’s Refusal to Boost His Security!

The Washington Post has revealed that former President Donald Trump’s security detail’s requests for additional security measures were consistently denied by senior Secret Service officials. These rejections occurred in the two years leading up to the assassination attempt on Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.

Trump’s security team had requested additional resources such as magnetometers and extra Secret Service personnel for screening attendees at large events like sports games and rallies. They also asked for more snipers and emergency response teams for outdoor gatherings. Four anonymous Secret Service sources confirmed these details to the Washington Post.

The previously undisclosed requests were often denied by Secret Service higher-ups, citing reasons such as lack of resources and staff, according to the sources.

These denials led to ongoing tensions between Trump, his top aides, his security detail, and Secret Service leadership. Trump’s advisors privately expressed concerns that the esteemed security agency was not doing enough to protect the former president, as reported by the Washington Post.

On July 14, less than 12 hours after the assassination attempt, Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi refuted claims that Trump’s security detail’s requests for additional help had been denied. He stated that these allegations were false and that extra protective resources and technology had been added due to the increased campaign travel tempo.

Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, whose resignation has been demanded by lawmakers from both major parties following the assassination attempt, echoed Guglielmi’s denial during a meeting with Trump campaign leadership in Wisconsin. This was reported by sources familiar with the meeting who spoke to the Washington Post.

However, when asked for comment on these reports, Guglielmi admitted that new information had come to light indicating that the former president’s security team had indeed requested additional assistance. It is suspected that these requests may have been denied by Secret Service headquarters, prompting an investigation into the matter.

The Secret Service spokesperson described their mission as vast, challenging, and intricate. He stated that they work tirelessly every day in a dynamic threat environment to ensure the safety and security of their protectees across various events and challenging situations. They employ a comprehensive strategy balancing personnel, technology, and specialized operational needs.

An anonymous Secret Service official revealed that the agency has been struggling with limited resources since several scandals during the Obama administration. These shortages have significantly impacted high-level resource demands such as counter-sniper teams and uniformed officers responsible for screening event attendees for weapons using magnetometers.

The agency currently provides security details for over two dozen individuals, plus a few others who receive ‘door-to-door’ protection from the moment they leave their homes. Following the attempt on Trump’s life, Secret Service added protection details for independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Republican vice-presidential nominee Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH).

Bill Gage, a Secret Service veteran who served under multiple presidential administrations on protection and counter-assault teams, told the Washington Post that the agency has long been overwhelmed by a large volume of protection requests while dealing with limited resources and staffing caps.

Gage explained that the situation is a simple case of supply and demand, with requests regularly being turned down. He emphasized that a director needs to acknowledge the agency’s understaffing issue and advocate for a significantly larger budget to continue their zero-fail mission.

The Secret Service’s Office of Protective Operations is responsible for reviewing security requests for events. During the weekend of the Butler shooting, the agency dispatched multiple counter-sniper teams and hundreds of agents to the Republican National Convention and an event for First Lady Jill Biden. They were also preparing for a planned trip to Austin by President Joe Biden.

An anonymous official confirmed that they lack the resources to provide Trump with the same level of security as when he was president.

In one instance, the agency denied Trump’s security detail’s request for additional resources to secure his massive rally in Pickens, South Carolina. The venue’s surroundings, which included several commercial and residential buildings, raised particular security concerns. Sources familiar with the request told the Washington Post that Trump’s security team had asked for extra counter-snipers to be positioned on rooftops.

The Washington Post learned from sources that the Pickens event was just one example of a denied request for additional tactical support.

Trump’s team repeatedly asked for magnetometers and extra help to screen attendees at sporting events that Trump planned to attend, especially wrestling matches and college football games. These requests were denied as they did not pertain to official campaign events.

Several lawmakers and commentators have called on Secret Service Director Cheatle to resign following the assassination attempt on Trump. This includes House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and U.S. Rep. Brendan Boyle (D-PA).
