In a recent event, former President Barack Obama had to step in and guide an apparently confused President Biden off stage. This incident took place during a fundraiser attended by Hollywood’s elite, where Biden seemed to freeze while receiving applause from the audience.
The uncomfortable situation occurred at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, following an interview conducted by Jimmy Kimmel with the two former running mates. As they got up to acknowledge the crowd’s applause, Biden seemed to lose his bearings for around 10 seconds while looking out into the audience.
Obama then took charge of the situation by grabbing Biden’s wrist and guiding him off stage. He maintained his hold on Biden’s shoulder throughout their exit.
This embarrassing incident follows another recent event where Biden was spotted seemingly lost during a meeting with world leaders at the G7 summit in Italy.
While applause erupted following a military flyover, Biden inexplicably wandered off from the group. He was seen engaging in an off-topic conversation with someone packing equipment, seemingly unaware of the planned activities for the leaders. Italian Prime Minister Meloni had to step in much like Obama and guide him back to the group.
Biden’s erratic behaviour continued during his meeting with Pope Francis earlier this week. In an awkward moment, he leaned over and pressed his forehead into the wheelchair-bound pope who appeared utterly baffled before being wheeled away.
