White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has refused to issue an apology after President Biden insultingly labeled Japan, a trusted US ally, as “xenophobic.” This is another example of the Democrats’ blunders in foreign relations, demonstrating a lack of respect for our allies.
In response to questions about Biden’s derogatory remark at a fundraiser, Jean-Pierre deflected by saying the president was merely emphasizing the importance of immigration to America’s identity and strength.
Biden said, “Think about it. Why is China stalling so bad economically? Why is Japan having trouble? Why is Russia?”
REPORTER: “The word ‘xenophobic’ is a very pejorative and negative word, particularly to use against an ally. Is that what [Biden] meant?”
KARINE JEAN-PIERRE: “The president was very clear!”

His answer? “Because they’re xenophobic,” he said. “They don’t want immigrants.”
Contrary to the Democrats’ narrative, critics argue that increased immigration harms American workers by driving down wages and pushing some out of jobs, while only benefiting coastal elites.
Jean-Pierre insisted that immigration strengthens the US, but she did not directly apologize to Japan, our key ally.
A reporter asked, “The president last night described Japan as ‘xenophobic’ along with China and Russia. Was that intentional? Does the president want to apologize to Japan?”
Jean-Pierre responded by reiterating the president’s stance on immigration being integral to America’s identity without addressing the need for an apology, further straining diplomatic relations.
This incident underscores the political challenges around balancing immigration policy with maintaining good relations between allies – a balance that seems increasingly difficult for Democrats to achieve.
