Once again, Tucker Carlson, the esteemed conservative voice and former Fox News anchor, has made waves in the media landscape. This time, he graced the stage in Gonzales, Louisiana to introduce none other than Kid Rock at a rousing Saturday night concert. The scene was set as Carlson took to a podium emblazoned with Kid Rock’s insignia, designed to mimic that of the presidential office.
“I feel welcome, thank you!” declared Carlson from behind the podium. “You may be asking, what am I doing here? And you know, I don’t really know. Thank you.” His presence there stemmed from an invitation extended by Kid Rock himself during a dinner at Carlson’s home – a place where freedoms like smoking indoors are still respected. “So, I wound up here tonight because I was having dinner at my house with Kid Rock and a few months ago and he said — and I think he likes my house because you can smoke in my house — but he said you know you should come and open for me on my summer tour,” Carlson recounted his unexpected journey to the stage.
Carlson’s appearance wasn’t just a surprise; it was a testament to his versatility beyond being an “unemployed talk show host.” Despite not being musically inclined – “I do not play an instrument” – he boldly accepted Kid Rock’s offer.
The decision of what message to convey came spontaneously as well: “And I read all these stories and I thought to myself, ‘this is the most depressing thing that’s happened to me in a long time. This country is fu**ed up,’ that’s what I thought. I did think that, which is a sad thing to think when you’re in bed. And I looked over at my wife and my four dogs and I thought, woo, I feel a little depressed,” shared Carlson with raw candor about his morning epiphany.
However, his despondency transformed upon arriving at the venue: “And then I got here and I walked through the crowd and I thought, no, no it’s not. The country they tell me about on the internet is fu**ed up. The country that I experience when I walk through this crowd or when I wake up in my town of a hundred people in rural area, is a beautiful country filled with beautiful people.”
This isn’t Tucker Carlson’s first interaction with Kid Rock; they’ve had several engagements before on both his Fox News program and his own Tucker Carlson news network where they’ve discussed their shared pro-Trump perspectives.
