The blatant bias of the left knows no bounds, as evidenced by the recent actions of New York Judge Juan Merchan, who has outrageously expanded a gag order against former President Donald Trump. This far-left judge has now prohibited Trump from exercising his First Amendment rights to speak out against any family members involved in the Stormy Daniels case. It’s a clear attempt to silence Trump and protect the interests of those who oppose him.
Last week’s gag order was just the beginning. Now, Merchan is targeting Trump’s right to speak about his own persecution and defend himself against attacks from those related to the case – including Loren Merchan’s daughter.
The audacity of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is on full display as he accuses Trump of violating this overreaching gag order for merely responding to criticisms from Loren Merchan – who isn’t even a witness or juror in the case.
Trump pointed out last Wednesday that Loren Merchan had posted an image depicting him behind bars – an act that would provoke anyone to defend themselves. Yet when Trump speaks up, he’s slapped with further restrictions.
In an egregious move earlier Monday, Bragg urged Judge Merchan to tighten the shackles on Trump’s speech even further by including family members in this unwarranted gag order.
Bragg’s prosecutor shamelessly labeled Trump’s defense against these attacks as “dangerous and violent,” using hyperbolic language in a motion filed Monday.
In what can only be described as judicial activism run amok, Judge Merchan complied with Bragg’s request Monday night and barred Trump from speaking publicly about his family or Bragg’s family member. This is nothing short of an assault on free speech and due process.
The judge claims that allowing Trump to defend himself would somehow threaten the integrity of judicial proceedings. According to NBC News, Judge Merchan stated that such actions are a threat not only to individuals but also their families and ultimately undermine justice itself.
Loren Merchan is no innocent bystander; she is a far-left political operative who worked for the Biden-Harris campaign and whose firm has been lavishly funded by Democrats determined to take down President Trump. In fact, Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff paid her firm $4 million during just two years – talk about conflict of interest!
