If you can believe it, a member of the media just stood up and took her medicine.
Ana Kasparian, one of the hosts on “The Young Turks,” stood tall to own up to her role in spreading a blatant lie about DeSantis.
This goes back to a former disgruntled state worker that was out to get DeSantis.
Debunked
Rebekah Jones, the ex-Florida health department employee, tried to say that she was being forced to juke the stats on COVID deaths.
Instead of vetting her story, the media jumped all over it to try to make DeSantis look bad.
This was not just Kasparian, as virtually every major media outlet jumped on the story.
Well, it turns out that Jones was full of it, lying right through her teeth the entire time.
I will give Kasparian credit because at least she stepped up and took blame for being a part of this fake news story.
She stated, “The only person that should be held responsible for that is me.
“I’m the executive producer of the show and I screwed up royally.
“Part of the reason I screwed up is because I had all these biases, of course, against Ron DeSantis.
“And I don’t really feel bad about that… but it becomes a problem that bias blinds you to what the facts of various stories happen to be.
“And I should have done my due diligence, I failed to do so, and by failing to do so, I feel like I misled the audience into thinking that Rebekah Jones was some sort of hero.”
Among other print outlets, Cosmopolitan made her out to be a hero.
CNN, that network of Jake Tapper’s that just ridiculed Fox for the Dominion settlement, claiming they were not even a news organization, had her on at least five times.
Have either of them stood up and apologized or even owned up to their role in spreading fake news?
Of course not.
