Even a leftist protester couldn’t prevent Joey Chestnut from winning the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest for the 15th time in his life.
Protesters took to the stage during the middle of the annual hot dog eating event on July 4 at Coney Island, New York.
And one protester in particular, wearing a Darth Vader mask and holding a sign, knocked into Chestnut, according to NBC Sports.
It was then that the competitive eater wrapped his arm around the protester’s neck and proceeded to slam him to the ground.
Reports reveal that the protester is presumably an animal rights activist.
Even after the incident, Chestnut continued the competition and ended up winning the championship title, although he did not break his record of 76 hot dogs and sandwiches that he set back in 2021.
Chestnut sits at the number one ranking in the world by Major League Eating. He won his first contest back in 2007, defeating Taer “Tsunami” Kobayashi.

Obviously the protester had absolutely no idea what hit him.
He was in a headlock before he could even realize what was going on. I believe that’s what people call instant karma.
