“The View” has once again become a hot topic on social media with a recent segment that’s making the rounds. The episode from Friday, which has gained traction online, featured the show’s hosts going on an unusual tirade against men.
Joy Behar initiated the discussion by reflecting on a trending video where several women were directly questioned about the necessity of men in their lives, to which most promptly responded with a “no.”
Behar shared her thoughts without reservation: “Do we need men? Most [women] answered very quickly, no. And only one said she thought women needed a man in their lives, only one. But when men were asked a similar question: do we need women? Most of them said yes. So why do you think that is?”
“Because men are useless,” chimed in Ana Navarro.

Navarro continued by drawing comparisons between heterosexual and homosexual men, commending gay men for their contributions to women’s lives while casting doubt on the value of straight men. “Nobody can help you from keep you from doing harm to yours to yourself like gay men.”
Later in the conversation, Navarro added, “Yeah, wait till you’re married 20 years and you’ll see how replaceable they are.”
As the dialogue shifted towards personal experiences regarding what roles men fulfill—or fail to fulfill—in their own lives, it was evident that this was more than just casual banter.
“The reason that women, I think that the reason women can stay married for as long as they do is because they have a lot of girlfriends,” Behar opined. “They have girlfriends. Because I always have to initiate the conversations.”
It leaves one pondering how public opinion might shift if the situation were flipped.
