Fresh Videos Put Skid Row Voting Claims Back in Focus
New videos from Los Angeles have put a very ugly question back on the table: were homeless people on Skid Row paid to vote for Mayor Karen Bass and councilwoman Nithya Raman? In the clips, residents claim they received cash after voting, with one man saying he got $4 for Bass and a woman saying she was handed $5. That is not a small mistake or a paperwork hiccup. If true, it is voter fraud dressed up like street corner hustle, and that should make every honest voter furious.
Federal Scrutiny Is Already Growing
The latest claims arrive after James O’Keefe released video tied to an alleged vote-buying scheme, and the woman at the center of that case has now been federally charged. The new videos were reportedly recorded near 7th Street and Flower Street and have been turned over to the Department of Justice. That matters because election integrity is not supposed to be optional, and “trust the process” is a lot harder to sell when the process looks like cash-for-ballots in plain sight. In one of the clips, the woman identified as Rene Johnson said she supported Bass but also said she was unclear about some of the forms she completed, which only raises more questions about how these ballots were handled.
Ballot Concerns Around Shelters Keep Piling Up
These reports are landing alongside other claims that thousands of homeless voters were registered to shelters where they did not live. One Venice shelter, where 185 Raman voters were reportedly registered, also received $600,000 in taxpayer money. Social media users have also pointed to a late mail-in ballot surge tied to Skid Row, arguing that ballots sent to central addresses can be filled out or returned by someone else. That is exactly why election observers keep warning that loose rules invite abuse. If any of these claims hold up, prosecutions should follow, because a republic cannot survive long if voting becomes a cash app with a ballot attached.

As @BoredElonMusk & the data show, Raman’s late mail in ballot surge was fueled in large part by ballots from Skid Row.
Tens of thousands of homeless whose ballots are sent to central addresses (not the sidewalk) & can be filled out/returned by someone else.
